Kiss of Light Margarita

Kiss of Light Margarita | Magnolia Days

It has been a long time since I had a margarita. Tequila has not been my friend. It isn’t tequila’s fault either. It also isn’t my fault. I used to love margaritas and would order one in a heartbeat. Then came a terrible bout with food poisoning after a night when I had one margarita. It kept me away from tequila until now. I was given the opportunity to make a Kiss of Light Margarita and I liked it. That is a good thing indeed!

This was to be a Valentine’s Day post. Due to slow carriers, I did not get samples in time. I still wanted to give it a try. The drink has a beautiful pink color and would have been perfect for the occasion. I’m glad I made it. Plus I had a fun time taking the photo of it too. I tried my best to show a kiss of light hitting the side of the drink.

“El Beso De Luz” is the Spanish name of the drink. It was given its name by Carlos Santana in tribute to his wife. Carlos likened his first taste of it to the first time one falls in love. Carlos enjoyed the tequila so much he is now one of the owners of the brand. I enjoyed it enough to get me back to sipping on a margarita.

It’s good to give things a re-try. I’m finding my tastes are continually changing and evolving. What have you recently found you like that you didn’t before? Is it food or a beverage? This time it was a beverage for me. Now I’m off to taste some more. Cheers!

I've never tried Licor 43, but it sounds amazing! This cocktail is beautiful, and I hope I can locate the ingredients to give it a try, while listening to Santana, of course!

Oh interesting! I do like a spicy kick in food so I'll have to try it in a margarita too.

This margarita is going to be the highlight to my week. It's been dark and gloomy here and I need something refreshing to remind me that spring is right around the corner!
